Companion

Read with a companion beside you

Each companion is a place to read a run of papers straight through. The text leads; your place in it is the clock. Where the papers tell a story, the companion shows where the passage is set, when, and who is present, and draws the map (for the birth of our world, the scene) only as far as you have read. Where they describe rather than tell, a details companion draws what the text states, one detail at a time. Either way, every line is marked as the text's own words, derived from them, or our drawing.

Paper 77 · 93 paragraphs · a visualization of details, and a map read-along for 77:2 to 77:5

Read Paper 77 with a companion that draws what the text states about the midway creatures: the two orders and those they serve, how the primary midwayers came, the descent of the secondary midwayers, the counts loyal and rebel, and the four groups of the United Midwayers, one detail at a time, each with the words it comes from. The history between, the Nodites and the Adamsonites of 77:2 to 77:5, is read on a map beside it: Dilmun, the tower at Bablot and the four Nodite centers, then Adamson's journey north.

Read Papers 78–80 with a companion beside you: the violet race after Adam, and the Andites carried east to India and China and west to Egypt, the Mediterranean and Europe. Where the text tells a region's story again from its beginning, the story clock starts again and says so, and the peoples of Papers already read stay on the map, so East and West share it.
